Aspen Grove Registered Massage Therapy & Counselling

Compassionate care. Results-driven.

Jarris Bowman, RMT

Jarris grew up in East Sooke and explored various places in BC before settling in the Comox Valley. He graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in New Westminster and has been a Registered Massage Therapist for over 10 years.

Jarris found his passion for manual therapy after suffering a myriad of sports injuries and chronic pain. Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy® was the only massage therapy technique that got him free of pain, and he has dedicated his career to studying and perfecting it. Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy® is a holistic system of manual therapy that treats the underlying complex compensation patterns of a problem rather than the symptoms. Jarris prides himself on finding and treating the source of dysfunction rather than chasing the pain around.

Jarris is trained in craniosacral therapy and offers an integrated approach, blending Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy®, craniosacral therapy, and osteopathic techniques as needed. He is currently pursuing a post-graduate diploma in osteopathic manual practice.

Bethany Bowman, RMT, BHSc, MC

Bethany has been practising as a Registered Massage Therapist for over 10 years. She trained in New Westminster at the West College of Massage Therapy and received mentorship in Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy® from Armand Ayaltin, DNM, RHT, RMT. She holds a Bachelor of Health Science from Thompson Rivers University and a Master of Counselling from City University in Vancouver.

Bethany enjoys treating all bodies from all walks of life. Her treatments have a unique flair, blending orthopaedic therapeutic focus with flowing and intuitive style. Alongside physical injury and chronic pain, emotions, trauma, and stressors from our modern day lives can store themselves in our bodies, wreaking havoc on our immune systems and well-being. When we care for our physical selves and feel good in our bodies, this translates positively into all aspects of our lives.

Bethany is an avid kiteboarder, climber, and coffee lover. In her spare time you can find her out in the forest or on the beach.

Kim Nguyen, RMT

Kim is new to the Comox Valley and very excited to share her skills as a therapist. She is originally born and raised a Vancouverite before moving to Nelson, B.C. where she graduated from Kootenay Columbia College as a Registered Massage Therapist.

Kim is passionate about helping her patients achieve optimal physical health and wellness. With her caring nature, she was drawn to the profession of massage therapy with a focus on helping alleviate pain, sometimes associated with chronic conditions. By both listening to her patients and "listening" to her hands, she creates a treatment that is specific to her patient's needs. In her treatments, she uses a combination of deep tissue, slower myofascial work, trigger point release and active and passive stretches in order to reduce pain, restore or increase function. In her past career, which required her to sit at a desk for long hours, she found that she gravitated towards these techniques which were instrumental in alleviating her discomfort and enhancing her overall well-being whenever she saw her own RMT.

While Kim is trained to treat a multitude of musculoskeletal and systemic conditions, she is particularly interested in treating seniors, those dealing with chronic pain, and treating overall stress and anxiety.

Outside of massage therapy, Kim enjoys quality time with people she loves, being active in the gym or exploring the outdoors.

Stephanie Wilson, RMT, BSc

Stephanie is a dedicated massage therapist who values patient-centred care. After 13 years living and working as an RMT up North in Whitehorse, she is thrilled to be back home on the West Coast.

Stephanie graduated with honours from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2011. Prior to studying massage, Stephanie obtained a BSc from Dalhousie University, specializing in Health Education. As an RMT, Stephanie is passionate about educating patients so that they can develop the knowledge necessary to achieve optimal health.

Stephanie’s treatments have a strong focus in myofascial therapy. Myofascial therapy relieves pain by releasing the tension within the fascia, the web of connective tissue that spreads throughout the body and surrounds muscles, bones and organs. Fascial release assists the body in maintaining Range of Motion, eliminating Myofascial Trigger Points and reducing restrictive fascial adhesions often caused from postural restrictions or injuries.

Stephanie is a compassionate therapist who looks forward to welcoming you to her practice. Whatever your concern may be, we will work together to develop the best treatment plan for you.
