RMT - FAQ

Are you Registered?

Yes! We are all Registered Massage Therapists.

What should I expect during my visit?

Each session starts with a chat about where you’re at that day and what areas you want to focus on. We typically start our assessment the moment you walk in and continue assessing as we go. You can expect a holistic treatment intended to treat both specific problems and improve overall physical vitality. We always treat at a pressure that is comfortable for you. Some people may feel a mild soreness or “bruising” sensation for a few days after treatment. Keep in mind that your first session will be your baseline – it can only get less painful from there! Healthy tissue doesn’t hurt. Tenderness and bruising decreases as tissue health increases, meaning that with each session you will feel less discomfort afterwards as you steadily progress.

Do you do relaxation massage?

Most of our clients feel very relaxed after treatment! However, please note we do not do “spa-type” relaxation massage.

Do you direct bill?
We currently bill directly to Pacific Blue Cross and Telus eClaims (e.g., Manulife, Canada Life, Desjardins). Please be sure to bring in your extended health card or fill out your insurance information on the online intake form if you would like us to bill your insurer directly.

How much does my plan cover?

Individual insurance plans cover different amounts for RMT. We do not have access to your plan details, so please check with them about how much your plan covers.

Do you take ICBC clients?

No, we do not accept ICBC clients.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

You do not need a referral to see a Registered Massage Therapist. However, if you have an extended health care plan, be sure to check with them about what’s required for you to be covered.

What kinds of conditions do you treat?

Common conditions we see include: headaches, low back pain, neck pain, whiplash, concussion, frozen shoulder, chronic pain, sports injuries, muscle and joint strains and sprains, post-surgical rehabilitation, fibromyalgia, TMJ, and many more!

Is your clinic wheelchair-accessible?

Our clinic is very small (400 sq ft), so while we can accommodate smaller manual wheelchairs, we are not equipped to handle large size motorized wheelchairs or scooters.

What are your rates?

45 minutes - $110.00

60 minutes - $135.00

These are recommended rates as per the Massage Therapy Association of BC.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for at least 24 hrs notice to cancel your appointment. Within 24 hrs or for no-shows, the full appointment fee will apply. Your appointment time is reserved just for you. Please be considerate of other clients who would love to have the spot.
